HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!
Ahhhhh father's day. I first wanted to give a shoutout to my own pops. He's pretty much the best. I may not have always thought so....but in hindsight looking back, especially as a parent now, I'm grateful for everything my dad did as a parent to teach me. My dad has taught me so much.
He's taught me everything to know about finances, how to budget, how to save, living within your means, the importance of tithing, EVERYTHING! I think Stephen is MORE than grateful for this. haha I just ASSUMED that the man was supposed to be in charge of finances in the family. How naive of me. I handle all the bill paying and finances in our family, which I LOVE!! But I have my dad to thank for that.
My dad is funny, really funny. And along with funny comes a very unique laugh that Stephen loves to impersonate. That also is pretty funny. haha I appreciate that my dad taught me to be easy going and just laugh, especially at myself.
My dad has an amazing testimony. He made us get up every morning, even in the SUMMERTIME!!! at 6:15 am to have family scripture study. Can you believe that!? I know. But he has taught me so much about the gospel and helped strengthen my own testimony, and I'm grateful for that. I guess God is getting back at him for all those summers now that he's the bishop!! Karma dad...sorry haha
My dad is an awesome husband. He taught me so much about marriage. He was always so supportive of my mom. We have a bit of a tear duct syndrome in our family, passed on from my mom and her side of the family. But that never bothered my dad. He would bear through all us women bawling for no good reason, especially my mom. But growing up I can think of only a few occasions where I saw my parents fighting. I'm sure they had more arguements out of our presence, but what I remember most is them going on nightly walks, always snuggling on the couch, always sitting by each other in church, always holding hands, and my dad always giving my mom a kiss when he left or came home from work.
Thanks for being such an amazing dad. I know that I can always come to you for sound advice on anything. Thanks for always being there for us kids, for always supporting us in everything we did. Thank you for always making family your first priority. Happy Father's Day.
NOW FOR STEPHEN!!!
Few things make me happier than seeing Stephen in daddy mode. One of my favorite things to do is mute the TV while I'm working and listen to Stephen playing with Balian. He loves that babe more than anything....except maybe me. :)
Stephen is an amazing father. When I first had Balian, Stephen took four months off work because I didn't get mat leave. And I think during this time he and Balian really bonded. Balian LOVES Stephen. He lights up and laughs whenever he walks in the room. I think if Stephen could, he would totally be a stay-at-home dad. I honestly would be fine with that. Because I work evenings Stephen has to feed Balian supper and bathe him and get him ready for bed most nights. I don't tell him enough how much this means to me, but it's so nice to know that Stephen is there to play Mr. Mom when I'm working. And he's really good at it!!
Thanks hun for being such an amazing father and husband. Balian and I made Stephen a little gift for him to take to work for his office. It actually turned out a lot better than I was expecting.
Thank you Stephen for being such an amazing father and husband. I know that Balian will always be able to count on you for laughs, support, your trust and advice. We love you!!
First of all, I laughed out loud, literally at the tear duct syndrome line because it is SO true! In fact I was crying just the other day haha Second that last pic of balian is sooo adorable!
ReplyDeleteDitto on Neechel's comments, the last picture is so cute, I can hardly wait until you get here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Janna! Thanks for all the comments. You really did remember a lot of our life eh? Sad part about that tear duct syndrome is that it somehow jumped genders and now I've got the same disease. Bound to happen I guess! Love you tons and can't wait to see you guys soon.
ReplyDeleteCute cute cute post. Love the photo frame and Balian.
ReplyDeleteLove those little footprints. Just don't go getting a tatoo of them...seriously I met a guy the other day who was so proud to have his baby's footprints tatooed on his arm.
